[HELP] S28: Stuck on Marekgro Quest (No Map Drop!)

Stuck on Marekgro Quest (S28) — please help! Vessel of Sin in Tomb of Silence won’t drop Marekgro's Map (tried re-running it so many times). Hall of Sin is missing the Map Device and NPC Sker too. All other quests are done, so this is the only one left. Any ideas? Appreciate it!

Has this been translated? Are you playing in a non-English version? Sounds like you are talking about the Maligaro quest in act7?

The map item is found in crypt, have you gone there yet? It is south on the crossroads, opposite direction of chamber of sins. Once you have the map item, then take it back to chamber of Sins.

Hello, I have replayed the map of Chapter 7 in Part 2 from start to finish, but I still can't complete it. I have no idea where the problem lies.

The only reason the NPC Silk should be missing from where the map device is in the Act 7 Chamber of Sins, would be if you've already completed Maligaro's Map and handed the Black Venom to Silk.

Silk then hands you a key, which removes the barrier blocking the Chamber of Sins Level 2, and unlocks the path at the far end of that area--past where, in Act 2, you fight Fidelitas and collect the Baleful Gem.

If you try to head to Chamber of Sins Level 2, is the path blocked by a barrier?

What does your quest log say exactly? Do you have the waypoint for Den yet? Do you have any quest items in your inventory?

That's how it's written in the mission briefing.


"Sin has you defeat Maregro to harvest his soul. You have entered Maregro's lair. Find and defeat [Maregro]"


Alright, I've tried every possible way. There really is no way to complete it. I'm giving up and starting a new account. Thank you so much for your help.

There will be a way to do it.

Sounds to me like it is saying you have entered maligaros realm at some point. That area is a bit funny as it requires portals, as with map device, the portals can be exhausted, and I think the encounter needs to be started again when this happens. Not sure exactly how that works with getting the portals up again. I'll do some search and let you know if I come up with anything.

There is some people here suggesting to do a manual reset of the instance. I've never needed to do it for this, and there is a GGG staff saying in the thread it should not be needed, but other players are saying they have needed to do it. If you are going to start a new account, it might be at least worth trying first. CTRL + left click on the chamber of sins waypoint on the world map UI and click to start a new instance. Make sure to use the one in act 7 and not act 2.

It sounds like they had beaten maligaro, and you may not of yet, but maybe it will bring up a new NPC to interact with or portals.
