How to use Oem of Blanching and can you use it multiple times ?

I have a chest piece that I need to have 6R on. Currently it is 1W5R1B.
It is already 6-linked and I don't want to break that and go back and forth trying to get the 6th socket red, then have to re-link it. I play in Std.

My understanding is that an Omen of Blanching can provide the chance to roll 1-3 sockets white. While this is of course a gamble it seems like not a bad thing to try. I'm not sure exactly how it would work. Do I consume the Omen and then apply a chromatic orb (not while in bench) and cross my fingers that it changes enough sockets white and doesn't change anything else a non-red colour ?

If I don't get the outcome I want can I use another omen or is it once and done ?

The other non-Omen option I think is either to just apply chromatics and hope or place it in the bench and change colours that way. Which way to should I go ?

You can use multiple omens of blanching. But its definitely gonna mess with the colors.

And if its that Sadist Garb its more likely to hit blue and greens.

Harvest Craft could get pricey depending on how you hit but its a option.

*You don't need to change instance when using multiple Omens of Blanching I tried in standard in hideout. (just make sure they in inventory before using chromatic orbs)

If you are on standard with that level of gear just break the link and spend the jewelers and fusings. Even with the omen of blanching you are still very likely to hit green and blue sockets so its not going to be efficient at all.

You could also harvest reforge a non-white socket to white if you dont want to deal with the jewel/fusing method.

Your best bet is definitely to break the 6 link. If you want white sockets for flexibility, you are better off going down to 3 sockets before blanching.
“Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”
Socket colour rolls probabilities are based off the attribute requirements of the item. So rolling 6 red sockets on an int/dex base is difficult. Some mechanics disregard this, but in general it will be very tough. I have not done the math, but what people are suggesting is that getting the 6 red through other methods might be harder/more expensive than using that configuration to roll the final socket from bench and re-linking.

I'm not sure what than chest is worth either to craft, might not be that difficult, but the base with 6r I can only see 2 available listed, 80 and 400 DIV. So seems like if you want 6r, you will probably get it within a handful of DIV of jewelers orbs.

Some very rough estimate using vorci calculator that may be done incorrectly. Crafting bench average 1DIV of jewelers, chromatic average 700DIV, if you can even get that much chromatics realistically. With large swings on confidence intervals. Unsure for other methods, but it seems others are spot on with suggesting to using the bench. Relinking is only about 1DIV.

You can use an omen of blanching on an item multiple times, you may need to be in a non combat area or reset zone as omens in general are only one use per area. The odds of hitting 3w3r would be extremely low though, and they are likely not cheap enough for that to be a reliable way of getting the outcome you are looking for.
