Ghost Dance mechanical Question

I’ve noticed an unusual interaction between the “Prevention of Recovery above Evasion Rating Cap” mechanic and Red Altars that remove a flat amount of Evasion.
Even though my tooltip still shows sufficient Evasion to recover Energy Shield, I lose the ability to recover any ES 80% of the Time.

Could someone clarify how Ghost Shroud’s recovery prevention functions?

Specifically, which value is it comparing against — my base Evasion or my total (buffed) Evasion as shown on the tooltip?

The behavior seems very inconsistent, making it difficult to determine exactly what’s happening through playtesting.

Recovery prevention works with total evasion, and the altar mod reduces base Evasion.
Against your total buffed evasion. What ever value that is is where the recovery will stop. So if this number is positive and less that your total ES, it stop at that line.

Your trickster has global base EV of 2039, so I would say the shrine is putting you down to 0.

Can see your source of confusion, but they are separate mechanics, that in this case are related by evasion. Ghost dance works off total evasion, but total evasion gets effected by changes to base evasion, such as from the shrines.
