OK guys i m going thru my reddit writhdrawal phase

so long story short, i've been using reddit for more or less as long as i've been poeing.
10-12 year account. cant recall. been active on poe subreddit there too. but back when reddit api changed. a lot of the mods and contributors left. things changed. reddit changed. i'm quite vocal and my takes can be controversial. back in the day mods did their job. they handed out suspensions and warnings. i would even talk to them or appeal if i felt it was unjust. sometimes theyre nice enough to review my case and get my account back to normal. but after the great api exodus. the mods that are now in power are very militant. they dont have the same level of care or consideration. in a way they dont put up with bullshit. i did notice a rise of new accounts near that time. but after a month or two it was my turn. there was a post regarding a man who got caught engaging with an underaged prostitute. its a bad situation all around. i commented something along the lines of, if the girl deceived the guy perhaps he should get a lighter sentence. to me its a reasonable opinion. i can be wrong of course. i m not saying underage sex is wrong or right. but BOOM i got permabanned. citing that i had justified sex with an underaged person which is against the sites rules. i tried appealing. no avail, got a copy pasted response saying they do not tolerate any form of sexual exploitation of minors. oh well. there goes my super old account. all the stuff i posted, all the stuff i saved. all inaccessible. but it was ok.... i created a new account. which was fine for a few months. i forgot why it got banned. and after that account was banned. i lost my passion towards owning an account. i created a new account and i just used their randomly generated name. i now knew and understood why there are so many random accounts now on reddit. people are simply getting banned left and right. this new account. i used it well. one day a new post popped up about how this bastard raped someone. i cant remember the details but i commented something like i was the girls dad, the persons is gonna get royally fucked or killed by me. boom. got banned. yeah i know i broke the rules. its not ok to voice out violence to others. but this time it was different. reddit kept track of my pc/ip/mac address/watever. whenever i created a new account, it would get banned later automatically. i do understand that creating alts to circumvent bans is not allowed to begin with. but what can i do? i cant appeal and even if i do no one cares to listen nor care. its easier for them to just ban and move on. they ve got tons of other users to moderate. these new mods dont have the passion to review cases individually anymore. anyway. its been a few weeks since my last account got banned. i think it will be my last. i still have an account on my phone tho i only use if exclusively to browse and not post a thing. i still use reddit regularly. i browse the subreddits that appeal to me. it does feel like constipation. sometimes i feel like i want to vomit words. give my thoughts. but. i cant. i want to but i cant. i've given up the notion of creating new accounts as i know they will get banned. tho i think i can and i have ways to make sure i can, i m tired. reddit is not what it used to be in the first place. mods arent even moderating their subreddits anymore and tons of low quality shitposts are being posted. which is not new. i noticed it back during the api exodus. the front page sometimes had nothing relevant that i was interested in. and nowadays reddit keeps pushing random subreddits trying to make it feel active. it simply isnt the same. its a god damn shame theres no real alternative. in fact the only reason i came to reddit was coz shockwire/digg turned to shit. and reddit was THE alternative. oh well times have changed. speaking of those sites reminds me of back when i liked gaming sites like kotaku. other old sites like cracked and something awful. all my old fav sites do not interest me any more. things change. i ll get used to browsing reddit anonymously. its not like i know anyone there anyway. Surprised it's taken you this long to notice, it's always been a platform dominated by melts and wetwipes even back when the bias & censorship was much more subtle.

" i still go there coz it still has a wealth of info, tho i dont interact with anyone there anymore " i would say, before the API exodus, i never really saw the bias and censorship as the moderators were well... more moderate. lol but after the exodus, since many good posters stopped posting, reddit tried hard to make it seem like theres a lot of content so they pushed more niche subreddits. i can agree with you on the fact that certain subreddits are full of bias. d4 subreddit seems to hate streamers/sweaters and make it seem like all they do is complain despite anytime when blizzard does what they ask for the game becomes better for everyone. anti ai subreddit is full of people who refuse to see any benefit of ai generated content on the flipside some pro ai subreddit has a lot of people trying hard to justify that ai art is art and ai "artists" are the same as regular ones. i am a centrist but more towards pro ai, but i find that take horribly dumb. as an asian i also find it disgusting that westerners champion people who make it worst for us. for example matt healy. he came to my country (malaysia). our country has a majority of muslim populace. hence our gov is not pro lgbt. our younger generations dont really care if you identify as a zebra tho. there are many people who really dgaf about lgbt stuff. we are not against it per se. so its something tolerated. we had a music festival not too long ago. it was to last 2 days or 3? cant remember. matt's band was known to be controversial and always misbehaved. our local organizors had to beg our gov and get matt's team to get them to promise to behave. so what happened? during their turn for their performance, they turned up DRUNK. barely sung, and healy gave his band matt a kiss. both of them were male. the entire festival was shut down on the spot. that was the first night of the festival. people had taken off days and paid for travel and accomodation for that festival. we have vendors who bought stock and paid to sell their food at the location. ALL GONE TO SHIT. because of healy. but on his subreddit and many other subreddits, the people were championing healy. holy fucking shit. our people suffered personal financial losses, business losses, the organizors not only lost a huge lot of money on whatever costs they had, but they also had to refund money to the ticket holders and even have to pay a fine. on top of all that the gov made it more difficult to hold concerts. holy fucking shit, healy made it worse for us malaysians. even for the lgbt community, as they were just silently living in the background but now lgbt stood out like a sore thumb. and "everyone" on reddit was cheering for him as tho its the best thing ever. and yeah iirc that happened even before the exodus. it really depends on the subreddit. If you've ever read "The Princess and the Pea", then consider Reddit mods as the Princess, in terms of sensitivity. When they started warning/banning people for upvoting comments (which was over 9 years ago), I left and never went back. Initially I missed it, but now I am 100% cured.
