Hiveborn fortress not spawning monsters

When entering a hiveborn fortress in a map that has the modifier "Area contains many totem" the waves are populated with totems which do not have minimap indicators and block the spawn for further monsters.

Killing none of the totems means the waves just continue to proceed and you stand there with nothing to do.

I can confirm this I had the same experience, maps with "area contains many totems" and no monsters were spawning in the fortress.
