What's the One Piece of 'Hidden' Lore or World Detail You Find Most Fascinating?

Hey Exiles,

We all spend thousands of hours grinding maps, perfecting builds, and trying to beat those ruthless Ubers, but sometimes I like to take a step back and appreciate the world GGG has built. Wraeclast is absolutely dense with dark, fascinating details.

I'm curious what piece of lore, a specific piece of environmental storytelling, or a subtle item description has always stuck with you?

My personal favorite is the tragic story behind (Insert Specific Character/Item/Zone, e.g., the Eternal Laboratory and the relationship between Malachai and Shavronne). It really adds a layer of depth to the world's corruption that goes beyond just 'evil monsters.'

What's yours? Is it a minor NPC's dialogue, the text on a Divination Card, or a visual detail in a forgotten zone? Let's have a lore dive!

Happy farming!

Mine is 1 particular voice line the witch has and she will only say it once (unless im mistaken).

I was around 1,500hrs played at the time and almost always play the witch so id tuned out most of her voice lines after hearing them so many times.

Decided id try out farming beyond demons, something I'd never done. After a few maps a boss demon spawned and I killed it without much issue- but then my witch acknowledged it BY NAME. Not a generic "ha, should have served me!" Line but instead, "Was that Beidat? If they had stopped to talk i would have been open to making a deal" (going by memory, not exact qoute).

That 1 line was like a hook that dragged me into looking at the lore of wraeclast a lot closer.

Now every league when Beidat first spawns in a map/wildwood i think to myself "here it comes, she's gonna say it!"

Consequently, 80% of my poe2 characters are infernalists.

So any good deals from Beidat yet?

My personal favorite is a piece of hidden trivia that most players skipped over, and is part of the Way Forward quest where you kill Captain Arteri.

There is a letter on his desk from Piety, and most people only read it once.

When the game used to have Regular, Nightmare, Ruthless and Merciless modes, there was a slight chance of in Merciless of getting an alternate letter.
I didn't get a screenshot, but here's what it said.

"Arteri,

Yes I like piña coladas
And gettin' caught in the rain
And long walks by the tortured
And the screams of their pain.
