Fire damage taken as Lightning grants immunity to Righteous Lightning Damage portion

Character setup: Font of Thunder with 40% Fire and Cold damage taken as Lightning, Purity of Lightning Sublime Vision with 30% Fire and Cold damage taken as Lightning, Watcher's Eye with 20% Fire and Cold damage taken as Lightning and 4 Hunter items Bound by Destiny with 10% Elemental damage taken as Chaos potentially breaks the game.
Stats with level 18 Stone golem active: 1496 Life 5463 Energy Shield 5% Fire Resistance 21% Cold Resistance 90%(127%) Lightning Resistance 75%(77%) Chaos Resistance 397,9 Life Regeneration per second 200 Energy Regeneration per second(conditional) ![]() Expected Fire damage taken per second before mitigation: 1496*0,9 + 5463*0,7=5170,5 Lightning damage taken per second before mitigation: 4653,45 Chaos damage taken per second before mitigation: 517,05 Lightning damage taken per second after mitigation: 465,34 Chaos damage taken per second after mitigation: 129,26 Net ES regen: -265 conditional, -465 normal. How it should work: first my ES should take fire damage from RF as lightning and slowly drain. Then my life pool should start slowly draining. But how it works in game: my ES does not take any damage from RF. And if I spec Zealoth's Oath to remove life regeneration, my life pool starts to take 129 damage per second, since it is the only thing that bypasses energy shield. Pure life setup: 1496 Life 0 Energy Shield 5% Fire Resistance 21% Cold Resistance 10% Lightning Resistance 75%(77%) Chaos Resistance 38 Life Regeneration per second 0 Energy Regeneration per second(conditional) Lightning Damage before mitigation: 1211,76 Chaos damage before mitigation: 134,64 Lightning Damage after mitigation: 1090,584 Chaos damage after mitigation: 33,66 Total Damage taken: 1124,244 Net regen recovery: -1086,244 No lightning damage taken from RF, only chaos. Note you are getting endurance charges from Timeless jewel so that's an extra 16% elemental mitigation, not sure if that was in your math.
Side note, I'm surprised RF is generating endurance charges. You were gaining none and then as soon as you activated it, you procced your Timeless jewel? Degens are not typically considered hits. Have you tested with CI? If you allocated CI to be immune to chaos, EB to have no ES protecting life, and then Zealot's Oath to have no life regen, what happens? Theoretically, if RF only does damage as chaos, then you should be immune to self damage from RF? Even if you remove all your lightning and chaos res. |

Also, other Fire damage works properly(Tested on Exarch runes). CI disables RF completely, so it is not an option. Endurance charges are generated from Elegant Hubris, but those are irrelevant to the subject. Yep, I imported already which is how I know the Timeless was giving endurance charges. Still odd they are being generated without being hit. Have you tested without the chest piece? The only other variable that I cannot account for and is probably not commonly run. Seen several people run the taken as set-up like you're using and degen like expected, but never wore that chest mod. |

Well, chest is irrelevant, as I tested did a second recording with Agnostic, so ES is not relevant at all, it is just fire to lightning conversion part appears to be completely broken and doesn't register self inflicted dot from RF. Self hit damage from Enmity's Embrace works fine.

Was randomly reminded of this bug report as someone I know is playing the taken as lightning setup this league. Still works like you reported with 90% lightning RF degen is ignored and 10% chaos RF degen is taken when using the taken as lightning/chaos combo.
