Schizo, petrified blood, progenesis proc order is important...

Schizo you take 60% of the hit up front, and it multiplies with the other two for the up front hit, BUT will the life loss after four seconds mechanic of Schizo have the reductions to hit damage from petrified blood and progenesis taken into account? If not Schizo could be quite bad on builds that use those...?

My guess is that "40% less damage taken (from hits)" modifier is applied before modifiers, that interact with "life loss from damage taken (from hits)"

Yeah you need a way to regain the 40% of hit lost as life fast or it will kill you I believe. You also need to have enough life in general when you lose the life imo. I think the life lost part functions like a life cost but who knows till we get to test with it. I'v thought of a few builds that could use it but most of them have too much of an issue dealing with the lost life part to be viable.

Far as I understand it works like that:
1. Monster does 100 damage hit (after other reductions). 2. Damage is reduced by 40% of that due to Schizo. 3. Player would take 60 damage without Petrified Blood/Progenesis. 4. Those 60 are reduced to 30 (or whatever) by Petrified Blood / Progenesis. So Player takes 30 damage at the time of the hit. 5. The DoTs from Petrified Blood / Progenesis and other effects like Recoup are applied over time. 6. 4 seconds after the hit the life loss from Schizo is applied. This is 24 life loss. Life loss is not damage. This life loss is not mitigated in any form or manner. Nor is it "damage taken" nor is it a "hit". So its not possible to "autocounter" with most means like hit damages. Petrified Blood and Progenesis do not apply to those 24 life loss. Due to the above its possible to get situations in which you get killed by the life loss from Schizo but would have survived the whole thing without Schizo. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Last edited by Zrevnur#2026 on Oct 30, 2025, 3:02:31 PM

I think the builds you'll want to use it on don't really exist yet but mby some type of hybrid or life builds just get better by clicking this thing. The way I see it if you got the right build the life lost part wont kill you unless the hit you took would have killed you without taking it. So either way you would have got owned at worse case.

" That's the optimistic interpretation, but I can see that the order of calculations could mean that at step 6 you take the 40 damage (i.e. the scizo 4 second damage is the same whether you took petrified blood or not) And because it's life loss not damage, this interpretation is almost 100% worse than the other order of calculations... |

" The Schizo damage you take after 4 seconds is the same whether you took Petrified Blood or not, which is why it'd be 24--40% of 60. Schizo making you take less damage reduces the damage you take from the hit, so the "Take 40% less damage from Hits" affects any of these delayed damage effects. Petrified Blood and Progenesis change how you take the damage, and don't affect other things based on the damage of the hit (which is why it works well with Recoup, rather than against it), so they wouldn't affect the delayed damage of Schizo either. |
