I for one am going to miss the classic trade market

The new trade will have some advantages like trading offline, not waiting for replies, better searching but ...
Old trade site and market both used the same tabs and you weren't limited to just simple tabs, any tabs like quad tabs, map tabs, blight tabs could be made public. Without the map tab I'm quite sure it wont be nearly as easy to buy all the maps you need for atlas completion at 1c each. Fine reds were always more expensive but after the first 24 hours every white/yellow map could be had quickly at 1c I think availability of cheap uniques will suffer too. I always put my unique tab public and accepted every random 1c offer for common uniques. I wont waste merchant tabs this league putting any up. Obviously TM had to go when they put async trade in POE1 to be consistent across all platforms. Hopefully they add other types of tabs, add tab pricing, bulk selling and many other features. Looking forward to a great league start with y'all on Friday! Last bumped on Oct 27, 2025, 10:37:59 PM

I do agree with most of the improvements to async trade you'd like to get, but I want to say this:
Async trade eliminates like 95% of trade scams (for items that can be async traded). I will take this over *anything else*. The stupid scam offers on expensive items, the dumb pricefixing that never accepts offers, all gone. I mean, they can still do that crap, but they have to do it the hard way (with website + in-person trade-window trading), and you can 100% dodge it by just using async trade. They also can't do this stuff anonymously anymore. If they want to scam you, they have to reveal who they are. I'll take the removal of the trade market in exchange for this every time. No questions, no upgrades needed. Last edited by QQPQ#9136 on Oct 27, 2025, 10:14:37 PM

" Yeah for sure the people who sent exalt instead of div was a bit annoying, but I never fell for it and usually left their offers unanswered so I tied up their exalts and one of their 10 max pending offers. The price fixers were pretty easy to identify too with a bit of experience. My point being, I predict lower availability of common cheap items and higher prices. Easier to buy things for sure, and likely better availability of crafted items and things people think are high value. Going to be interesting at least! |
