Can GGG not kill the old standard when 1.0 release?

A little context: I heard the plan when 1.0 release is to have a new standard while all the stuff from early access goes into some sort of early access graveyard. You can still play but there will basically be no trade activities.

I speak for all the collector type players who enjoy collecting legacy items in standard. Standard literally doesn't matter to the majority of the player base who play league or profit wise to GGG. Why not let us keep our little playground by keeping the same standard? POE1 standard has been going on for 1 decade at this point wouldn't hurt to preserve early access history.
