POE 2 needs more new ideas

A lot of systems and mechanics got copied over with slight changes from POE 1. Omens, Expedition, Veil, Breach.

Its not a bad idea to copy good systems over, but its missing new ideas.

POE2 needs a different approach than POE1. If you copy a lot of things over, then you dont need 2 games.

Agreed.

There are also lots of things from poe, such as damage modifiers- that likely need to be adjusted for the new game.

Such as damage modifiers(maps/expedition). If we want an interactive game, damage or defense needs to be balanced, we need to be able to take hits by design.

For instance, you get a map with a +25% dmg mod, then an expedition stone(or more) with one, then a rare with one(rares can get two that I've seen). Mobs can easily, very very easily get +50% on the low end.

This creates rather unpredictable massively ranging gameplay. The wild inconsistency can easily catch you off guard.

Especially if you're trying to play with recoup/leech. Suddenly its AH WTF, dodge roll dodge roll dodge roll run for the hilllllllssss.

You'll literally run into mobs that are going to tap you; and I already have a shitload of passives into defense.

That kind of damage seems like its designed around the old system of pop or get popped. Or, likely, its just simply carried over and hasn't been adjusted/balanced.

Oh, and this will also just be straight up confusing to inexperienced players- that we want to keep. If players are suddenly dying and don't understand why, they will simply quit. Most of them will not ask for clarity, they'll just be gone.
