Bloodline Points?

3.27:
"Bloodline Classes can be paired with any Ascendancy Class and are allocated with your normal Ascendancy Passive Skill Points. You can decide how many points to allocate to your original Ascendancy Class, and how many to allocate to your Bloodline."

Question: Does that mean we have to spend our 8 Ascendancy points between them?

Like 4 Points in the old Ascendancy Class and 4 Points in the Bloodlines?

Would be better if we get them addionally. Like 8 Points Old, and +4 Points for the Bloodlines.

Yes, you split points between your Ascendancy class and Bloodline. Bloodlines add flexibility, letting you enhance your build by reallocating 2 or 4 points from your original class—or you can skip them entirely if your setup works better without any Bloodline nodes.

I think what they wanted to do is bring back some of the event classes, reintroduce their cool, build-enabling nodes, but without creating a whole new layer of overpowered player power. Instead, they took the compromise of making you sacrifice some Ascendancy class power in exchange for different powers or build-defining features.

I assume many will be unhappy to spend their 8 points between them.

Spell Supp. has been nerved and other stuff.

More and more challenging Bosses introduced.

Therefore it would be fair if we get the Bloodlines on top.

You already have to kill the Bosses so you have more choices but have to remove points from your ascendancy class, and with like just 2-4 Points its feel unreawarding, loose more identity from the old Ascendancys.

Bloodlines could be more power to defeat more powerfull end-content.
It offers you more choices which is more power, if you use them wisely.

If they were on top, then they would probably be very neutered in terms of power.

I will say the ones we saw today were not amazing unless they can abuse some weird interaction, but we only saw 3 of the 10.

During the livestream they said the main reason bloodline ascendencies are shared points is so your main class still matters, which is why there is a max of 6 nodes/points in a bloodline and 2 in your class. Otherwise base classes wouldnt matter at all.

They also said they didn't want to introduce another thing to manage if it goes core to overcomplicate it further, Base class and passive tree>Ascendency>Bloodline>Atlas tree, etc etc
personally i would have preferred it if they just gave us the half ascendancy similar to how they did it in affliction

more player power = more fun.

tho that said. these ascendancies just scream borrowed power to me. most likely voided at the end of league.

They do not appear to be intrinsically tied to the league’s core content and instead bear closer resemblance to the alternate classes featured in past events. Moreover, it has already been stated that these classes are a new addition to the base game, which makes the prospect of their removal after a single patch highly unlikely, particularly given the community’s strong enthusiasm for seeing alternate classes integrated into the core experience.

If their design were intended merely as borrowed power, they would exist as part of the league’s temporary mechanics. The fate of the Grafts and the tree, however, remains uncertain and may still be subject to voiding once the league concludes. If anything, this concept seems poised for expansion, potentially paving the way for additional bloodlines in future leagues.

yeah this one feels very much like borrowed power.

i used to be very hyped for such things in the past. GGG never took away any gear that gave players power before sanctum. so i always jumped into leagues to bring stuff back to std and i would work my ass off for it.

but ever since they just voided sanctified relics, i've learned that we cant expect everything we earn in leagues to stay.

Having more options = more potential, which will directly translate to more player power
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
