When did Players not like Sextants?
|
I've read it a few times and I'm curious. Was it when they added the additional Tier? When they made them far more rare? When they were plentiful? I found them fairly useful if a bit tedious.
Towers were functioning as a 'potentially' better Sextant system. So I guess I'm just curious when players decided they didn't like it and why they wouldn't want an improved version. I always thought the 'favorited map' feature was stupid so maybe I'm just a different type of player. Spamming Mephisto and Baal was the worst of D2 so I refuse to map spam also. I seriously doubt players enjoy putting 4 things in a map device every run. This seems worse in pretty much every way so I don't get it. The entire time. People disliked sextants the entire time.

I am curious too actually, what was wrong about them?
I played with sextants, it didn't feel that horrendous: you apply them, they add bonuses to your map, that's it. |

" you dont need to do it every run. you can put 20 of each scarab that will last 20 maps sextants you had to replace after every 3 or 4 maps. rolling them yourself was a pain so you had to buy them off trade.; it was pretty much mandatory, unless you want to roll 100 times to get what you want scarabs are just way better Last edited by Druidenjoyer#0031 on Oct 20, 2025, 6:01:44 AM
