Transforming PoE 2 Endgame: Unique Gear and Hidden Dungeon Progression
|
Observation / Problem:
Right now, the PoE 2 endgame has become predictable and formulaic. Most players simply copy builds from the few “meta” options that everyone is playing, running the same maps repeatedly with little sense of exploration or surprise. This limits creativity and makes the endgame feel stale, even for experienced players. Proposed Ideas: 1. AI-Driven Personalized Rare Gear: Introduce a system where rare items can have AI-generated modifiers, unique per player or per character. This reduces reliance on crafting or predictable drops and encourages experimentation. Every player’s journey becomes different, as even identical base items can roll distinct stats and modifiers. 2. Hidden Dungeon Progression System: Add secret dungeons hidden in endgame maps. When discovered and completed, these dungeons unlock access to the next act of endgame content. Completing all acts unlocks new hidden areas, each featuring unique skill or spirit gems, special rewards, and challenges. This adds a sense of discovery and achievement, making endgame content feel alive and meaningful. Benefits: Breaks the monotony of meta builds and repetitive maps. Encourages creative, personalized gameplay and exploration. Rewards players with unique gear, experiences, and skills for venturing off the beaten path. Creates a dynamic endgame progression system that keeps players engaged long-term. Closing Note: Combining AI-driven rare items with hidden dungeon progression could make PoE 2’s endgame unpredictable, exciting, and deeply rewarding, offering every player a unique journey rather than a copied meta path. " What i love in the new system is the "surprise" of getting additional content. Last map i had breach not expected and i got lucky it rolled the 3 additional breachs on top. Was very fun and exciting because i didnt choose a waystone i would have for breach. Making it more difficult. Having more special hidden thing in map would be really cool. I really like the idea of hidden dungeon you would have to find in some corner of the map. Even if they dont have special rewards but they could do with more rarity or something i guess. But just the fact to explore and find something hidden sound amazing. SSF player
