0.3.1 Endgame Feedback

A bit of feedback after playing the new patch in endgame extensively.
First thing that comes to mind that annoys me the most: 1 attempt per waystone. When you die you are penalized in a plethora of ways: - You lose experience - You lose all items on the ground - You lose all content on the map - You lose the ability to use Tablets on an attempted map - You lose the waystone In a game with frequent random 1 shots, desyncing/server issues, etc is it really necessary to give us only 1 attempt and punish us this hard? Additionally, since they changed how Precursor Tablets work, why do they need to remove the content from that area as well as the ability to use Precursor Tablets on that map node after failing an attempt? You are using a charge on your Precursor Tablets every attempt. There is a cost involved now. There's no reason to bar you from using Tablets on an attempted map. Second big issue: Rolling maps is way too complicated and time consuming. There are far too many steps to rolling maps. And you HAVE TO add delirium to your map, which just ruins the visuals of the game. It would be better if delirium and other juicing options were exclusive. For example, if you had to decide between delirium modifier on your map or a desecrated modifier (not saying this specifically should be the case, only that we need other options - and those options need to be balanced). That way, you pick the one you like - instead of being forced into grayscale mapping. We are only in Early Access, and already we have this much tedium in rolling maps. This needs to change going forward. This needs to be simplified. Let me slam a couple currency items and just go and play the game. This current system takes way too long and it's way too complicated. Make all modifiers affect quantity, rarity, pack size, etc. and just simplify the whole thing. Last point, though not as significant as the first two: I personally hate the map bosses. There are too many that summon giant beams/tornadoes/aoes that take up the whole screen so you can't see wtf is happening. Or they go invincible/disappear for exorbitant amounts of time, with seemingly no cooldown on these abilities. Annoying. Frustrating. Also, the balancing between these bosses and the pinnacle bosses is way out of whack. Map bosses are scarier and more difficult than pinnacle bosses. I dread fighting the boss on every map. " This is part of a greater issue. With an exception of a few seriously outlier builds (all too expensive for 99% of the player base to have, never mind in SSF), the builds in this game are just glass cannons. Playing endgame in PoE2 is like being handed a heavy machine gun, plowing down a field of baddies, then stepping on a gorram landmine - end of your journey with 2 notches of exp bar gone! Which leads me to... 1) Player base defenses (such as HP/ES) need to be higher by like 25%, so they can avoid one-shot nonsense. This meat-shield needs to be there by default, else all mob damage needs to be lowered accordingly; 2) Omen of Amelioration drops need to be significantly higher; 3) In general, crafting-related high-end Omen drops, such as Omen of Whittling (in two months I have seen one) need their drop rates significantly increased. Currently, by default, players are brick-walled in the end-game. This concept applies to other end-game crafting resources as well...I have never seen a Mirror of Calandra, for example...I mean NEVER. In 10+ months of playing PoE2 I am yet to see one! WTF!? Finally, the wanker waiting to throw his low-resolution snooty abuse at anyone daring to complain about this topic, needs to walk off an overpass onto a busy freeway. Please, get going now. Yes, there are a LOT of very frustrating things in the game right now. Defenses do feel low, I posted about this earlier and speculated 20%ish as well. I've played quite a bit, and you guys are frustrated with things I haven't even really touched. I'm just fucking sick of getting stuck by mobs. One attempt on 6 mod maps. Corruption spawning underneath me and locking me in place. Typing in this forum about all the frustrating bullshit. Maintaining maps at all. Don't run fucking out, cause then you have to level em up again. Which is fucking stupid. All points in waystones, throwing all my currency to mod them for waystone drops- no drops. 80% increase, no drops. Kill bosses, drop the same level. I shouldn't be struggling to just fucking climb maps again. I was at 11... now I'm at... 6 I think? Its super easy, I get nothing for it. All the gear sucks, <1% experience always. Fucking stupid. Although it doesn't matter if I die and lose experience. The game has taught me not to care about experience or levels. The game stops scaling at 85ish, just hard stop. No life to the end, nah. They can fuck off. Great game, but fucking hell there are some issues. I know we're in early access, but I mean... they've been developing this type of game for 15 years right? Can we get serious? Lets get the basics down so we don't lose all the casual interest in the game instantly. |

" I agree about getting stuck 100%. You can get stuck on mobs as they are spawning in but before they can be attacked, and there are A LOT of mechanics that will spawn mobs next to you. And getting stuck on terrain is a whole nother can of worms. btw you can buy waystones from Doryani. He will sell you waystones 1 tier lower than your highest completed, up to 14. You can also 3-to-1 waystones in the reforging bench to upgrade them to the next tier. imo the game should be balanced around SSF, and trade will shake out however trade shakes out. That being said, trade will be a much easier time if you're willing to try it (the new trade system they added this league is very good). |
