[Suggestion] Lower level requirement for first access to skills.

So having first level of skills tied to uncut skill gem levels is kind of gate them behind level requirement for corresponding uncut gem. We do have this in PoE1 and I think it's a good system to slowly introduce players to a long list of gems they can play with.
However, some skill are build-defining and is kept too far into the campaign, for example: Sacrifice. For corpse-based skill to work consistently, this skill is a must, yet it is locked at the last tier of skills and require level 58 to access, which is post-campaign, defeating the purpose of the whole campaign which I so far has believed is to get acquainted to the skill and slowly build your build around it. Now I just twink through the campaign and do a full respect to that skill, on both passive and gear, effectively playing a whole new character. In PoE1, you have access to all skills and support after act 4 out of 10, and act 6 give you convenient access to skill gems that tied to other characters. That is barely half of the campaign and I think should be replicated to keep the purpose of the campaign, more than just a time-sink tedium. Last bumped on Oct 18, 2025, 7:48:22 AM

im on the other side of the fence here, i think having to play multiple builds before reaching your final one feels good and gives you're playthrough a sense of progression

" I think there is a balance point to be achieved here. On one hand, just like you said, playing through multiple builds give a sense of progression, and imo there is also that in PoE1 where some skills does get unlocked at act 3, make you use other skills before that. Though I think we also need at least a small period before finishing the campaign, for player to get acquainted to their final build before getting into map and all the craziness it introduces. Appreciate the input. |
