Do these stack?
|
On my SSF Necro I've got a Pale Seraphim as a spectre, together with a carnage chieftain for frenzy charges and an ancient suffering for temp chains. I may be able to squeeze out a fourth spectre if I can get this additional +1 minions skill going, and if so, I was wondering if the "increased damage taken" debuff which the pale seraphim applies also stacks with the similarly named debuffs from other possible candidates, such as the Senior Heretech, the Syndicate Silencer or a Gilded Arach (https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Raise_Spectre#Support_spectres).
Does anyone know if they stack? If not, I will consider not trying to go for level 25 spectre, or if so obtain some other kind of defensive one. Thanks in advance Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion Last bumped on Oct 22, 2025, 11:59:52 AM

Most forms of increased damage taken will stack, but there are some exceptions. You can not stack multiple shock values, so the Syndicate Silencer shocked ground, will not stack with the Senior Heretech Shock, or other sources of shock you are using. The increased damage taken from the highest shock value will stack with other forms of increased damage taken. Generic increased damage taken should stack additively with other generic increased damage taken. The times where it would not stack is when there is some sort of buff involved that does not stack with itself, or has a cap to how much it can stack, eg. spiderwebs from aspect of the spider.

" Thanks much. My animate guardian drops shocked ground (not terribly reliably) so I might look elsewhere. But until I find a suitable rare monster (such as perhaps an arena master) I was wondering about the ruins hellion. Obviously it can cast a form of rallying cry - but I can't tell what kind or what power. Is there any way to find out? Rallying cry as a skill gem provides a buff based on the main hand weapon and surrounding monster power - and this is different too depending on skill gem level - but what does that translate to for this creature? Ruins hellions are quite nice and rather underrated imo. Their rallying cry gives a 10% increased damage buff (not a lot but hey its something) and enemies they taunt with the cry will deal 30% less damage to you.
Biggest issue with them though is survivability. Since they taunt everything and are rather squishy they are prone to being blown up. For reference: https://poedb.tw/us/Ruins_Hellion Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Oct 18, 2025, 3:59:21 PM

Yeah sounds pretty good for defense if you could keep it alive.

" Thanks! Yes I saw that link but there's no data on what exactly the buff does. Where do you get that data? Rallying cry also gives a buff to "your minions" but since the cry comes from the hellion I guess that does nothing since the hellion has itself no minions. I also don't know how often the cry from one hellion is up for. Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion

The buff it gives is 10% increased damage to anything in the AoE of the rallying cry. And the duration on both buff and debuff is 8 seconds with an 8 second cooldown on the rallying cry skill.
So it will have some issues with 100% uptime unless you have multiple hellions. As to where the info comes from its just stuff people have datamined. If the question is how did they datamine it then I have no idea as that is well out of my wheelhouse. Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Oct 19, 2025, 9:38:15 PM

" Thanks! I got myself a ruins hellion, doesn't have a problem with dying, but something curious : when its "rallying cry" is active, the mouse-over from the buff icon reads that I have increased mana regeneration. This isn't documented anywhere on the wiki, neither by the RH nor by the RC skill gem. So I wonder if the data so far is up to date. I cannot tell if the hellion taunts or not, it doesn't seem obvious that it does. (That could also be a partial explanation of its utter lack of difficulty of being fragile.) I don't see any indication of the other aspects of rallying cry either... Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion

I just confirmed everything works in game. When an enemy ruins hellion used the cry I had a taunt debuff saying I dealt less damage to all other targets.
With friendly hellions the buff says I do more damage with increased mana regen and my tooltip dps reflected an increase in damage as well. Enemies that were attacking me immediately switched targets to the hellion when they warcried. And the mana regen has always been on the buff hover for as long as I can remember. Might be an artifact of old functionality. |
