Is this a bug?

Why dont grenades fired from mortar cannons consume Heat. Also the only grenade i want to use with rapid shot is oil grenade and it does not consume Heat please rework rapid shot or fix this interaction

Heat comes from Rapid Shot. Your Mortar Cannon isn't firing Rapid Shot, so it's not generating any Heat for those grenades to consume.

If the only reason you're using Rapid Shot is for Oil Grenade then stop using it. I'm not even sure how that would work frankly as Oil Grenade's damage doesn't come from the grenade explosion itself.

This was a build I started in .1 I use oil grenade for the exposure and the slower affect and rapid shot to stun and light the grenades on fire I also had Cluster grenades in the mortor cannon firing rapid shot myself. Heat is being generated but not consumed when the mortor uses cluster grenade. I know oil grenade won't consume Heat which is why I said it doesn't even consume it. The mortor fires the grenade the grenade skill is suppose to consume Heat the fact I have to fire the grenade myself sucks and defeats the purpose of the mortor cannon in yhe first place. Also I was using a spear as my second weapon with spearfield and spear of Solaris but the whole build got scuffed after .3

Also not sure if you even read oil grenades but they explode on contact I dont need Explosive shot or reduce duration for them to work

Nah guy I definitely read Oil Grenades. I ran them as one of my core abilities all through the last League.

They do explode on contact but that explosion deals effectively zero damage. It applies debuffs - slow and exposure. You can enhance this effect by increasing the area of effect, buffing the magnitude of the slow, taking advantage of the exposure debuff, and/or enhancing the effect of igniting the oil on the ground after you ignite it, but Oil Grenade itself is not a primary DPS ability. Buffing it with Rapid Shot is not going to help you.

If you want to use Rapid Shot and Oil Grenade, you need an ability to marry the two e.g., Set Mortars --> Rapid Shot to 15 Heat (Mortars Drop Oil) --> fire Explosive Grenades which consume 15 heat for +50% damage that will also ignite the oil from your mortars.

That's my point they restrict the usefulness of the skill. Idc if oil grenades are a dps skill or not. I want to play the way I want to play and it was possible till .3 I killed arbiter with my build in .1 now my character is useless. You never had to use grenades to use rapid shot until .3. I dont do meta and I tend to avoid the things everyone else does. Don't play warrior and tired of lightning builds so wanted to try a fire build. The only thing preventing it is the skill itself. Literally ran 3 skills rapid shot oil grenade and emergency reload now both rapid shot and emergency reload are useless skills. Then came huntress with spear so added spearfield spear of Solaris and a companion to it and now its all for nothing after 6 months of working the character out. Also rapid shot was my main dps with oil grenade to support i didn't need anything bc they just worked before .3

I would easily heavy stun bosses fire an oil grenade pop emergency reload and waste the boss. Got extra damage from emergency reload plus the extra damage from them being heavy stunned and fresh clips on the rapid shot also gave me 100% damage bonus. So maybe interact with things more. After spearfield the idea was to make traps between me and the enemy so I could use my machine gun to mow them down while being defended. Spear was for faster boss clear bc the burning ground damage is insane on the skill. Companion was for aura buffs bc there is only two spirit gems that actually help my build. Overwhelming presence and now mirage archer

It's not like im dumb and dont know how to play i put time and effort into it and some thought but it feels like I am punished for trying something fun to me and unique instead of being rewarded for my effort
