PoE2 steam key

Hello, my friend gifted me a steam key for PoE2 but it says i cant log in cuz my account doesnt have early acces? Whats the point of me getting a steam key when i cant even play the game?

Hi there, please note the Steam and Epic keys are for unlocking the respective platforms Path of Exile 2 clients for download, they do not grant Early Access specifically.

Ok but still, whats the point of giving away option to download the game but not play it, i was excited that my broke ass can finally play it but this just ruins the fun
