Campaign is fun, but not on the 15th playthrough.

I get some people think it's a core part of the game but I am begging give an alt levelling experience for alt characters in a season, it's so off-putting to keep playing a season at the thought of slogging through another campaign.

I mean campaign should be there for first character of a season, then a character you have never completed the campaign with but after that, give us a skip campaign and some low leveling maps or something, because it's GREAT campaign but man I am really starting to resent it and it's taking away from the game.

I know there will be a debate about it and some sweaty tryhards will want to keep it, just have it optional so you can please both sides of the debate and let them run through it 200 times if they want to.

Edit - I think it would help player retention, take the 3 main ARPGs for example, POE, Last Epoch, Diablo 4, Diablo being the most expansive and having the least content out the 3 games has 4x the player base across all platforms, including battlenet, console etc, a huge part of that retention is aside from being built for casuals is the skip campaign so people can enjoy the main part of the game easier.

1st Character of Season:
Mandatory Campaign, ability to skip on alts granted after campaign completion

Alts:
Requires completion of campaign on one other character in the current league.
All waypoints granted, no optional quest-lines completed
Players can choose where they want to level within the campaign areas until level 60 - only hitting level 60 can grant them the ability to map
Yeah I agree, I would be happy with that.

I mean I think say for example if someone did a previous season as Witch and beat campaign, then do Witch again as a first they have to run it.

Then as an alt if they never beat it on Huntress for example, they still need 1 completion from some season on a character before they can skip campaign.

I would say 1st of season should be mandatory and first of a character without a campaign completion across any season.

Most recent boss rush time: 3 hours to start from 0 to killing Act 4 final boss.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

They never did it in 13 years of PoE1, they're not going to do it in PoE2, either. You guys can claim that the campaign is too long all you want, it's just as long in PoE1. The difference is that everyone has memorized everything about the PoE1 campaign and knows exactly how to bumrush it.

For what it's worth, I would absolutely love some form of "Leveling Mapping" mechanic with a scaling waystone, and have even suggested it in the PoE1 days. But I think hell will freeze over AND pigs will fly before it happens.
Yeah I get that, but there is a clear retention problem and if they're moving to a model of 4 months leagues, 2 months between poe1 to poe2 back to poe1, a skip campaign makes absolute sense for that extra retention in a 2 month period for players who play both games.

I understand it's not how things have been done, but like you said you would love a form of map leveling, as would a big chunk of the playerbase, one day as an option it would only improve the game.

I don't think we'll get it but it's hard to see downsides of having it as an option.

If POE allows to skip campaign, then its the start of the end of the game. Next we'll have exp boost, and no exp drop on death. This will even open up paywalls to endgame skip.

The campaign sucks because of bad layouts. You have to go "search" for this randomly spawning item in this bad layout map. That makes it feel clunky and alot of back tracking. Not fun.

If they take out those mechanics, it will make doing the campaign feel better.

Act 2 sucks with the caravan. They're trying to make it seem like you have "options" but it just makes it feel like you have to micromanage more.

Act 4 is the same as act 2. Dumb.

Just need to make the maps are linear and obvious where to go like in Poe1. Act 6 onwards in POE1 is almost literally a stright runway to endgame. Act 4 did a decent job at this, but the sailing is dumb.

The campaign is IMO, a good way to determine how your building is working, as well as see your progression throughout the act. It is, IMO, an important part of the character's development and progression.

End game at level 1 will make the game way too repetitive, boring and static, aRPGs are not just about numbers.
