Game resumes while DirectX has not completed restarting

This started happening with the latest patch.
When DirectX crashes and the game freezes, it switches to a black screen with animating gears and sparks in the background. Before this patch, the game would remain paused until the graphics engine restarts and begins displaying the game as normal. Now the game unpauses and I get attacked and killed by enemies while the screen is still not displaying the game as normal. Last bumped on Oct 14, 2025, 6:47:20 PM

The only workaround I know for this is to hit Escape as soon as you get the rendering issue. This or just swap from DX12 to Vulkan and forget about it ever being an issue (it costs just a few % of FPS).
