ES Leech not working due to Lich node Eternal Life

Hi, I wanted to report a possible bug or unintended interaction between life/ ES leech and the Eternal Life Lich node.


Weapon: Last Lament (provides Life Leech)
Gloves: Essentia Sanguis (converts Life Leech to Energy Shield Leech)
Lich ascendancy node: Eternal Life (Life does not change while you have Energy Shield)


Expected Behavior:
Last lament provide physical life leech, Essentia Sanguis converts Life Leech to Energy Shield Leech


Actual Behavior:
Life leech converts to ES, but your life doesn't change due to Eternal life, which means you aren't leeching anything.

Is this a bug or intended behavior? Because eternal life just states that life doesn’t change while you have ES.

This runs galvanic shard, and the beams are 100% lightning damage so therefore it wouldnt leech physical damage anyways. However if I run permafrost it would have 40% physical damage, and I'm expecting that part of the damage to be leeched, but according to the comments on reddit it doesn't seem to work due to eternal life.
