Make support gems interesting solutions, less examples of just (more/extra damage)

     There are too many support gems that are just more damage and some of those are just better options that make other gems irrelevant. This leads to uninteresting decisions and limits players ability to actually use gems in more interesting ways to solve problems for builds. 
    For example, Volt has been nerfed gives up to 15% extra lightning damage depending on how far you move. This is irrelevant due to gems like lightning attunement which gives 25% extra lightning damage with no requirements and elemental armament which just gives more elemental damage without any drawback. I actually think these other skills are the problem more than volt, although I do think volt should be buffed. Here are some suggestions I have: (Buff) Volt-change 5% extra lightning damage per 10 charge to 1% extra per charge (Rework) Lightning/fire/cold/chaos attunement -instead of gaining extra damage make these skills simply convert damage to the relevant damage type (Remove) elemental armament I and II from the game, keep elemental armament III but as a level 1 skill gem (New) Icy ruin-gain 25% of damage as extra cold damage against enemies standing on chilled ground (currently game needs a support gem that gives extra cold dmg other than cold attunement) Part of the problem for melee is dealing with on death effects, give them options to deal with this by creating new supports (Rework) Brutality III -20% more physical damage, enemies you sufficiently overkill (dmg=150% enemy health) do not trigger on death effects (New) Consuming flames-supports persistant buffs, while supporting skill is active ignited ground you create consumes other ground surfaces Last bumped on Oct 11, 2025, 4:55:58 PM
