General Impressions
The PS5 version of Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) is a noticeable improvement over the PoE1 experience on PS4. Controls feel tighter, UI is more responsive, and overall performance is smoother. The progression from patch 0.2 to 0.3 shows clear improvement — both in stability and polish. Family members who tried the game found it enjoyable for a single playthrough. However, they indicated they would not be inclined to invest hundreds or thousands of hours [ and thus NO MONEY in the longer end..] . It still remained somewhat boring after a moment We bought still a few tabs as usual. Gameplay & Systems Feedback 1. Skill Tree Design The PoE2 skill tree feels less engaging compared to PoE1. It appears more streamlined or simplified, which indicates reducing the sense of depth and long-term planning. I was suprised they didnt like it - i didnt influence. POE1 tree felt more engaging. 2. Campaign & Mapping System Surprisingly, the endless campaign map format was less well-received than expected. Casual players in particular expressed a preference for the Atlas system from PoE1, which offered a clearer structure and more rewarding sense of progression. Console-Specific Convenience & UX Requests 3. Marketplace Quality-of-Life Tools A "quick search" functionality would be highly beneficial — for example, marking an equipped item (like a breastplate) and automatically searching the market for better versions with improved stats (you can already search via market place but in this instance you have to open a menu: Select a breastplate from a dropdown menu, search with controller the dedicated stats in a long list manually without search functionality, [here are lesser available than on PC]. Enhacing this would be a major time-saver, especially for players in split-screen or family settings which prefer trade league. 4. Character Planning Integration A feature allowing users to preconfigure skill pathing or builds on mobile/PC, and then import or view the path in-game, would improve both accessibility and long-term planning. Similar to build templates or guides, this would help streamline the onboarding experience and planning phase for new and mid-level players. Technical & Visual Feedback 5. Split-Screen Limitations In split-screen play, if one player dies and there is only a single portal available, the surviving player is often unable to progress due to movement tethering limitations. This results in softlocks or unnecessary restarts, disrupting gameplay flow. 6. Obstructed Camera View On certain maps, environmental objects block the player's line of sight, making it difficult to see the character or enemies beneath. A transparency feature for foreground objects would significantly improve visual clarity and combat readability. Gameplay Balance & Restrictions 7. Flask Restrictions It is unclear why classes that rely heavily on mana are restricted from equipping two mana flasks, instead of the default mana + life combination. This limits flexibility for caster builds and forces less efficient resource management. I tried it out - i really wanted to get into it. I played hardcore for a moment, and also SC for certain boss battles. It is no bad game - but dont count me in; I'm also not playing Diablo 4. Im not sure why it doesnt catch me - there is not much difference to POE1 but still i prefer the first part more. Eventually it is the SKill Tree which seems kindof boring - i found it funny that family had same impression. Even if POE1 is: -older -has reduced graphics -i like SSFHC or THC <- i kindof still prefer poe1 crafting. etc. [dont judge this account - i play for a while and this is one of many accs.. it was used to enable playing poe2 on ps5] Last edited by Storylyne#1859 on Oct 9, 2025, 2:05:30 AM Last bumped on Oct 9, 2025, 1:57:56 AM
