Can't load main character, but new characters work fine

I upgraded from a GeForce 1060 TI to an RTX 3050, and now I can't load my main League character. I can create new characters and they play fine. I try to go back to the character selection screen to load my main character or launch the game and try that character after a reboot, but the same thing happens; I go to the screen where it says "Singing Caverns" or wherever I'm loading into with the spinning gears. I can hear the music change from the regular loading music to the sound that triggers when the character loads, and then I can hear the zone music. If I'm in town, I can hear other players around me. I'm using the Steam launcher.

I have tried turning off engine multi-threading, and I've deleted the contents of %APPDATA%\Path Of Exile 2\ folder. I also did a clean install of the latest WHQL drivers from Nvidia.
