Atlas mapping made better.

Imagine we have a static atlas similar to POE but detailed like the POE2 atlas, every map appears one time in a location that thematically makes sense, maybe a little scrolling would still be needed to navigate the atlas but no more endless scrolling in sea of visual clutter that all looks the same, there is a path through all the maps the 1st time each is played, once each map has been completed the first time you access that maps individual skill tree, maybe certain maps in certain biomes have stuff you can target farm without messing up the general drop rates of everything else, at certain thresholds you unlock points to customize the map with passive juice ie quant/rarity/chance or events to spawn etc...

Imagine never needing to drop or roll way stone's or tablets ever again, needing maps to drop to play the game never made sense even in POE, imagine the freedom to customize each map to get the most out of it, never mind the benefits of removing 2 items from the drop pool especially on bosses that always drop a way stone or two, more chances at gear and currency drops with the same quant multiplier.

The best way to improve mapping would be to let us zoom out the camera to the distance of a precursor tower when you activate it, and let us rotate the camera 45 degrees each direction so we can actually see the stuff behind walls and trees that cause so many frustrating death's.

Now tell me why my idea's suck and have a nice day!
