Can someone tell me what that massive spike in users over night on Steamcharts was all about?

title.
Steamcharts shows a massive spike in users in a single hour when the game is normally at it's lowest player count over a 24 hour period.

no as normal people aren't looking at steam charts.... But since you asked nicely. From a purely data science perspective you would just assume that there was a error in reporting as the increase and decrease are perfectly uniform over a 2 hour window which just doesn't happen in real world scenarios and the spike goes against all previous data you've collected. Like if you removed the spike from that timeframe it would follow the same slight decrease it does any other day pretty much proving it's an error in reporting.

It looks to be a blip on the site. Take note that the player number exactly matches the player number from 12 hours prior; 7pm and 7am.
thats the same time steam sync went down and everyone was spamming the button. Since it was down i assume it logged each one and than continued to keep them "logged in" when it ultimately failed
Fun things, Sad things... We can't share everything, But what we can, we should share... That is what it means to be a guild. A single persons happiness is everyone's happiness. A single persons anger is everyone's anger. And a single person's tears are everyone's tears.
