Change to XP loss for Endgame

This has been bugging me for a while, but a map you keep losing on should not be able to completely drain an xp bar.

Suggestion:

Make a set amount of xp (Based on player level) that can be lost on the start of a map (Would no longer have effect after player reaches 0 XP, which does happen currently). Take that total, Divide it by the amount of portals/ revives available until map failure.

Also if it has not been implemeneted yet, once the map is completed, disable xp loss incase you die to any stragglers of a mob.

You can lose 60% exp max on a map.
Or, now hear me out, those deaths are the games way of telling you that your character needs to gain more power before tackling that content.

The intent isn't that all characters progress through all content no matter what.

The intent is you build a character and push until you hit a wall, then decide if optimizing/upgrading is worth the time to you personally.

If the answer is no, then congratulations! You've just gotten what you're going to get out of the game. Time to move on or try a different character.

If the answer is yes, then congratulations! You've got some more short (and maybe long) term goals to work towards.

The solution is not to remove the penalties. The penalties are what make the successes feel good. Overcoming that challenge IS the game.

Food for thought: The more of the "game" you remove, the less there is to hide the fact that it's basically just a skinner box with the singular goal of getting you to fork over $$$.

Morbyn#3434 Thank you for the opinion. My complaint was not to focus on the deaths (and how the respawn and respec system is literally there to help everyone overcome the power scaling of different or all monsters) and more so focusing on XP loss.

But hey, the way you view the game sounds fun. While we are at it, lets make it really hard. How about losing levels permanently? Could make a whole seperate league for it. Might even be fun to have a challenge League that gives negative levels and negative skill points (These would have the opposite effects on the skill tree). The Masochist League.
