+skill level on weapons are way too strong
The amount of damage gained by this 1 single mod on weapons is way out of line with every other available mods and it's not even close. I think the amount of skill level gained on weapons needs to be toned down from +6/7 to around +3.

Have you tried doing a 6mod T16 irradiated map with 120% delirium on it? +6/7 levels makes a lot of difference in being able to clear that content.

Since the game isn't balanced, this is a quick way for the devs to give players damage.

i wouldn't mind if the cap was lowered BUT the skills must be boosted all the skills accordingly. |

Cap gem levels at 22 so as you level up closer to gem level 22 via corruption ect that mod on items becomes less necessary and put that lost power on passive tree
Give gemling ability to overcap gem levels by 1 or 2 more n boom now they have a thing again n gems levels on items fixed with minimal change to the game. |

It sucks that for a lot of builds (especially casters) it's the #1 thing to prioritize in terms of damage - but also since spells currently don't scale off your weapon like attack builds do I'm not sure what else to do about it.

" There are several threads on this. Most people seem to agree with you, including me. The main issue I've seen mentioned is that it's bad for loot: once you roll a +level item, nothing else matters. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.
