Leagues provide me 0 incentive to return to playing the game
What is the point?
You experience the main draw in about 3 hours, then why continue playing? I've started each new league of PoE2 - then I hit a period of time where I can't play after a few days, then decide to log back in, and I see that all the currencies have inflated wildly, I accept that I am now incredibly far behind, and ask myself... "Why should I continue?" And right now that answer is always, "You shouldn't. There is no reason to play this anymore" I realize there are some people out there that like to do trivial things without any meaning. They somehow find dying to puddles on the ground randomly to be fun. But me...? I like it to feel rewarding. I would prefer the season to end and to walk away from it with something to show. --- That said - the only way I can think of to make that happen is to increase focus on the Standard League. Make Standard League the REAL end game. Leagues should function just as they do now - as fun months-long events that introduce new features and items. The draw of leagues should be to obtain all the new items so that you can funnel them into your Standard Characters to create new builds, etc. A few balances would need to take place: 1. In Standard - no currency above exalted would drop, including mirrors. - This incentivizes you to obtain currency in Leagues and bring it over to your standard characters - and would dramatically reduce inflation. 2. PVP should be introduced and balanced 'seasonally' to incentivize people to collect better gear. 3. New Standard balanced end game bosses should be introduced that allow you to push newly obtained gear to its limits (currency like items, with limited functionality). --- Making leagues a funnel into standard provides incentive to play it. As it is now, a random fresh start that ends in 3 days feels really bad. Only a small specific type of player would find that to be interesting, which explains why you can look at every league POE ever released and see an incredibly drop in player counts. Some call that 'normal' - But it isn't. It should show you that the game isn't well tailored to the majority of peoples demands for it. --- I assume many people will take this the wrong way. So feel free to misunderstand me and post your silly one liners that essentially boil down to, "Thats how it always is and always will be". I will be happy to explain it more concisely throughout the post. Last bumped on Oct 4, 2025, 9:17:31 AM

It's okay to hold a perspective that doesn't resonate with the majority.
You're trying to dismiss any counter arguments before they are even voiced. I've played poe1 for 11+ years. I prefer the campaign to mapping. I preferred 0.3 endgame to 0.31. These are not views the majority of the players hold. New leagues bring surges of ~300k players and MTX purchases. Due to GGG (and Kripp), it is now generally viewed as the standard business model for ARPGs. That doesn't invalidate your perspective. Standard is still supported by GGG, just like poe1. Provide your suggestions for how to make standard better. But be realistic that Leagues are not likely going anywhere. -Quest |

" you are incorrectly assuming you are the majority here...why? Also - I never once stated leagues should go anywhere. Or even change. And I DID suggest changes to standard. did you not read the post? Last edited by fr0st2k#1732 on Oct 4, 2025, 9:18:07 AM
