My 0.3/0.3.1 feedback -- still boring in endgame

I didn't really notice much in enjoyment. Not going to go long. Just here to say it is still to long and boring to run maps. I like exploring and doing the citadels, special vaults, etc. I like doing maps and bosses, however the maps are just to large.

Hopefully 0.4 does a big rework to this.

I would hope that maps can be, I dunno, 3x the size of hideout maps. Have however many packs, but just enough map size to get some kills, get some boss battle, maybe some drops, engage in extra content, and move on.

Even if the map is loaded with mobs, it just becomes boring.

In poe1, I have enough movespeed while doing damage to not notice if the map is dense, sparse, or big. I just do what I can to kill mobs.

When I get an acceleration shrine, I am much happier. So maybe it is just overall speed I desire. With higher speed, I get from pack to pack faster, I dole out damage more frequently, and I clear the map more happily. But I am sure I cannot achieve that without permeant haste shrine.

I think I have a pretty good view now of where the line is between slow and boring and fun and exciting.

Until I get to 150-200kdps, the game is slow and boring in endgame.

I know there are builds in the tens of millions of dps out there. And there is a fair number of those.

However, there are far more builds that are sub 200kdps builds.

It would be nice if there was a higher floor. I know it is difficult to raise the floor of damage and ways to get it, without also lifting the ceiling.

I think if we had visibility into every skill combination and their most viable output in damage, it would be useful. However, that is a pipedream in an ARPG like poe1/2, diablo, etc.


For my builds, it seems the best damage output is lightning warp. To get the most from it, I need a lot of ball lightnings to teleport onto.

Personally, I would prefer if there were more ways to boost ball lightnings damage, so I don't have to rely on LW. I would prefer if BL could interact with some other skills, like orb skills (solar, storms, and frost bomb, of all things). Like passing through their aoe triggers novas or something. Or while casting in an orb radius, you get a buff.

I thought infusions would be the play, and they do help a little bit, but even fire empowered bl's don't come close to just LW on balls.

Lowering the ceiling of LW just removes a gameplay path entirely. So I don't want that. I would prefer something where skills can be more of their own gameplay style instead of tools for better gameplay styles. Like the only reason for flamewall is to buff some projectiles passing through.

Maybe the unique skill gems can allow something to empower specific skills?
Either way, at the end, I am just super bored, the maps take too long to complete (even just boss rushing), and the damage floor is so low, it is easy to get stuck behind a dps wall in order to proceed.
