New Tablet Feedback

Before the patch, I would usually run 4 or 5 mod maps because I really do not enjoy playing with 0 revives. I do not die often, but the feeling of losing all the content in a map and having to do it again with no bonuses to progress the atlas is frustrating enough that I try to avoid it entirely.

When the patch hit, I started doing 6 mod maps. I wanted to be able to use 3 tablets and I thought that now that tower buffs aren't a thing, it wont be that bad if I die. Sure I will lose the waystone and a use from each of my tablets, but I'm not some giga-juicer so that isn't a big deal.

I died for the first time since the patch today and learned that you CAN'T USE TABLETS ON NODES YOU ARE REATTEMPTING? WHY??? I cannot fathom a reason for this decision. When it wiped old tower buffs I got it. You have to do that or players can intentionally fail 5-tower overlapped maps and print infinite currency. I didn't like it, but I understood that it was necessary to prevent exploits.

I do not understand what exploits this new tablet rule is preventing. I already spent the uses of the tablets the first time I opened the map. They are gone, and I probably did not use them very well if I died. The waystone is also gone. There are no tower buffs, and if there were any from old towers they are gone now too. So why on earth can I not choose to use the tablets again? Just to prevent players from re-running maps with preferred layouts?

I admit the layout thing only just occurred to me and does provide the slightest justification, but maybe if you have made some map layouts so bad that players would choose to intentionally fail maps to be able to run the layout again, you have a different problem and forcing me to rerun the map with no tablets isn't the solution. I do not understand why the game seems so intent on making dying feel so much worse than it did in PoE1.

Anyway rant over. TY for reading.
