cataclysm's wake bugged

So unlike so many of the others having issues with the quest, my issue started later on the step to clear a tier 6+ cataclysm nexus. I'm playing on an area that still has icons from previous to patch 0.3.1 but its post-patch on oct 3, 2025. I saved this area till i was strong enough to handle it. I guess Dev's decided to leave the previously exposed areas (prior to 0.3.1) as showing the icons and having the modifiers (yes even the old tower modifiers are still showing active). So, i fired it up using the appropriate tier 6 waystone with 4 modifiers and added 2 precursor tablets.

I died during the boss encounter, had respawns remaining, and I used one. All the map was cleared of all monsters - as the warning said it would do if you respawn during a boss encounter. However after beating the boss, which was the fire and ice duo, on the very next playthrough, I was NOT rewarded with the atlas points.

The area surrounding shows cleansed of corruption icons - just as it has other times when I beat the boss with the appropriate tiered 4 modifier waystone and no deaths. So it changed the map as though I completed the steps necessary, just no atlas points received and the quest remains on the clear a tier 6+ cataclysm nexus.

So I'm thinking my 1 death on the boss duo prevented me from getting the progress and reward? Is this intended? Thanks for your help...
