Chaos Inoculation and energy shield bug

My energy shield was sitting at over 5k yesterday and when I logged on and plaued a few maps it got cut in half. I unequip all my gear and did a whole passive tree reset. Relogged, died, put everything back on and still sitting at half. I go up from 2k to 3k es and 1k hp after CI is removed. When put back on it drops back down to 2k es

I'm assuming this was meant for PoE 2?

Most likely something got changed, whether intentional or not. Corrupted an item that lost some ES, equipped the wrong item, etc.

If your ES goes down just by allocating CI, sounds like you have some life to ES conversion going on and when your life is set to 1, you lose a bunch of ES? But hard to tell.

Until character profiles are active, my only suggestion is to install a third party application like Path of Building and see how much ES it thinks you should have. I guess you could also manually calculate how much flat ES you have across all sources, then compare that with all % ES multipliers and any fancier ones like life to ES and see what it comes out to. But it's more likely to miss a value doing manual calcs than PoB will be.

But losing that much ES, I'm leaning towards corrupted/swapped item personally. Like you had an 800 ES chest and swapped to a 400 ES chest, with enough multipliers that is over 1k ES lost, up to 2k+ if you had a lot of % equipped body armor stats.
