Trial of the Sekhema BUG!
|
Hello GGG
I am loving the Third Edict, at least I was until this bug hit me. I just completed the 2nd Trial of the Sekhema and got a message after killing the twin Terracota bosses that I was granted additional ascendancy points. I clicked on the damn statue and it took me to the Ascendancy, but failed to grant points. I did this a few times, but with the same result. Then, I get DC'd, as regularly happens, but after INSTANTLY relogging, I am back at the beginning with no way forward. I waited so long for this damn barya to drop and this is the result. I admit I'm furious. Nothing has come so close to making me want to rage quit as this has. These freaking trials ... the fact that you must find a ridiculous totem in itself is silly. A trial like this should not be accessible purely through RNG and OF ALL THE THINGS THAT OUGHT TO WORK this, in my opinion, tops the list. Nothing is as disappointing. I wish there was a goddamn workaround other than try again to get lucky, then try again to make it through this shitty trial and THEN cross you fingers!!!! Cross our fingers?!?! Really? I can't think of a single system in the game that has destroyed my enjoyment more than this. The first two trials (the first Trial of the Sekhemas, followed by the first Trial of Chaos) are simple enough and I've never had a problem with them, but now that I want Ascendancy points 5 and 6 I am hitting a wall. So disheartening. Last edited by inethil#2258 on Oct 2, 2025, 9:20:29 PM Last bumped on Oct 2, 2025, 10:08:15 PM

Ok, so I was able to resume the trials, but now have little chance of getting through. Apparently, there is a third stage. So the presentation of the altar of Ascendancy is just there to mess with your head. Ok. Bit of a slipshod (or sadistic) fakeout. Can I suggest we really need some clarity here. I'm not done yet, but I still believe you should be able to run the trials for the first time (meaning when that run will result in Ascendancy points) whenever you like.
Apparently, I was under the impression that because I had completed the firs TotS and the first ToC, that I would need to complete two floors, rather than the one I faced during my first trial. If that had been in any way clear, I would have made different choices (I took the pledge of sustaining 50% less damage from boss rooms, but +100% honour damage from normal rooms - because I didn't realise I needed three floors and was at the boss). So, I need to partially retract my rant. I still hate the trial and the RNG aspect of even getting in AND the unbelievably confusing design, but ... It's a lot better than thinking it was just bugged and I was screwed for DC'ing. |

To get 5-6 points, you need to complete 3 floors and defeat the scorpion boss. After the 2nd floor, the altar is active for changing the Ascendancy.

" wait you can CHANGE ASCENDANCIES NOW ?!?! well thats news i didnt know thanks |

Yes, I've since figured that out. I'm going to watch a few videos first. It's a shame you have to essentially have to waste so much time just trying to figure this out and I still hate the trial concept. Fighting and possibly dying, I'm fine with. Hard, even very hard, I'm fine with, bring it.
But the trial ... I avoided that league mechanic, Sanctum, like the plague in POE 1 and I hate it just as roundly here. More so, as my class's key development is locked behind it. As much as I'm loving POE 2, Sanctum - really? My unequivocal ugh shall remain ugh. |

" I didn't mind lab so much in POE1 I hated Trials at first too; I play trade but more semi strict SSF based for acquiring currency for crafting and trials is still the best place for jewels. still hated it after several runs till I started running it to farm relics or the baryas just kept piling up; the move speed you can obtain makes the game feel so good I do really enjoy it now. its one of those "hates" you need to embrace to end up ultimately enjoying with enough experience Last edited by jcube69#4555 on Oct 2, 2025, 10:02:35 PM
