At the end the game is bored...
Hello, PoE. Most likely, this feedback will get lost among thousands of posts about how every update is bad, but I'll give it a try anyway. PoE2 is a great game with many fun and innovative mechanics (something Diablo can only dream of), a huge skill tree with endless combinations, an engaging story, and a massive community.
However, all of this brilliance fades when we consider PoE as a monotonous game where the core activity revolves around killing trillions of mobs, and every four months, there’s essentially a reset to start over. The game lacks variety beyond the endless grind of maps with random stats. While this is fun to an extent, it becomes repetitive. There aren’t enough quests to break the monotony (for instance, PoE1 had Heist, which was somewhat enjoyable, and previous leagues with mechanics like building your own city were interesting, but ultimately, everything boiled down to killing mobs in a repetitive cycle). Reaching the top level isn’t particularly challenging, and the variety of items is relatively limited. There aren’t truly unique items that you can earn without the grind of killing a million mobs with the same two or three skills. Even older games like Sacred offered more varied content, from hunting dragons to following a long storyline and engaging in diverse side quests. The classic Diablo games were also enjoyable, and while times have changed, there’s still value in having content that feels fresh and different. Sometimes, players just want to do something genuinely interesting—long quests, unique activities, or even building a house, catle, kind of game inside the game, bosses with some activity like in BNS . Yes, there’s the hideout, but what can you really do there besides decorating it via the game shop? you have quests in end game but honestly. every patch they more and more nerfed. Adding cool items that can be discovered in maps, earned through quests, or dropped by bosses could bring much-needed diversity and excitement or even unique skills (current legue is a good start with cool gems but why not skills?) or the core point, maps. common all maps basically the same, 80% of them you will do during campaign. what changes is only mobs. i would understand if we had 400 maps when 50 of them are those u had in the storyline but now its sucks. I don’t really expect Jonathan to understand this perspective, and it’s likely PoE will remain as it always has been a game where you enter, kill trillions of mobs, reach level 100, and wait for the next league to begin. The game is empty with almost nothing to do at all -- So this is exactly why the game has so many layers of "friction" and RNG keeping us from doing things like maps with content we wanted (until yesterday). To slow us down.

" I'm really hoping this is the case. I'm hoping that with time, this "friction" will let up upon the release of new and exciting content. I really like the .3 update campaign content. Really fun story. I had a good time. But overall, the game still feels like there's artificial difficulty that can only be overcome with these ridonkulous 1 button nuke builds. I can kill trillions of enemies if I'm having fun doing it. But being sheparded into a certain playstyle towards the endgame in an arpg really sucks. |

" Personally -- i'm one of the few who has had their FPS absolutely tank after 0.3.1~ no real valid reason. Right after patch it as fine except in boss rooms, then after the first hotfix fps was overall much worse, but the boss room FPS drops were fixed but about 25 fps less... Ryzen 5 5600, Nvidia 4060 -- definitely not top of the line, but I went from like 50-60 FPS last league while the screen was full, to about 15-25 in 0.3~ I think the worst thing is all the content that should ahve been in the game already is going to be used as "leagues". Abyss is not a new concept (which is what I give them money for), it's a rehash of an ancient mechanic. That's not all that interesting to me. Hell, the most viable skills in POE 2 are just the skills from POE 1 -- we play LA deadeye and Spark Witch in poe 1 for like a decade now... And most the new gems absolutely suck ass. I'm here for NEW things.
