Molten Vault + Temporal Tether

After defeating the boss in the Molten Vault map, the Temporal Tether appeared (to unlock the big boss area) but I couldn't reach it because it looks like it spawned over top some hardened lava.

I have a screenshot but have no idea how to add it here
