Abyss Rares break Omen of Amelioration

I've encounter this issue twice today where dying to the abyss rares, specifically the ones that stop life regen, stops the omen of amelioration from saving your XP.

Going for level 97 at this point and losing 10% is detrimental. On a side note, I also believe the abyssal rares that prevent life recovery are way too overtuned. There's no other monster in the game that immediately kills my character. As soon as I enter their presence my titan just gets melted.

having the same issue here as well,, this is tough :(
