Suggestion to Separate EXP/Life Omens from Others
I would like to share some feedback regarding the current implementation of Omens in Path of Exile 2.
At higher levels, particularly when trying to progress beyond level 97, the system feels unnecessarily restrictive because certain Omens are grouped together. Specifically, Omens such as Resurgence or Amelio end up limiting the ability to use other valuable Omens like The Hunt or Rogue Exile. This creates a situation where players cannot fully take advantage of strategic Omen choices during mapping. My suggestion is to separate EXP- and Life-related Omens (e.g., Resurgence, Amelio) from encounter or event-based Omens (e.g., The Hunt, Rogue Exile). By categorizing them separately, players would have more flexibility, making the gameplay experience both more enjoyable and more rewarding-especially for those pushing high levels where progress is already challenging. Yup, the crafting omens feel so different from the "event" ones. I'd love that these two categories spawn separately.

I support the suggestion, although I think they did this on purpose.
This game has a core philosophy of everything must have trade-offs. Choose Resurgence or Amelioration? To gain one benefit, you must risk something else. This is apparent in POE2 design absolutely everywhere. Want more drops by juicing waystones? It makes mobs more powerful or makes you weaker or makes the terrain annoying to traverse. Want to fight super endgame bosses that drop the most unique loot? You have to risk losing hours of progress if you die. The more you look at it the more you realize it's so pervasive that it feels almost obsessive, a blind religious belief that premise every design decision they make. |
