Crossbows and small enemies

Whenever a crossbow character is shooting at a smaller mob (eg. those jumping bugs from Act 2, or gekkos from Act 3), they normally angle their upper body to "aim" at those mobs.
Since the enemy itself is so small this leads to 2 outcomes:

1. the enemy is too close, so shots go OVER and just miss them entirely;

2. shots do hit the enemy, but since the aim is angled towards the ground, all projectile effects go straight into the ground too (very annoying with pierce and fork effects).

Can these enemies get at least the height of their hitbox increased so that these situations don't happen as often?
As it stands now, this causes a lot of cases where even with more than enough damage the character is still getting swarmed because half of the shots miss or their AoE effects become useless.

Also funnily enough, the above happens with the flying locust enemies (also first seen in Act 2). Even though they are clearly flying at character's height level, the character still shoots towards the ground.
