We need auto aim for keyboard/mouse as well...

Here is what I am thinking:

1. You decide to play with controller yourself because that is your prefered method, fine.. all good..
2. You get auto pickup that can be performed 10 times faster than clicking with mouse due to auto aiming, however the tradeoff is that sorting what items to pick up is harder/takes longer. It's a give and take situation, all good..
3. You get to spam your ability only using your controller stick to walk in whatever direction and your character does 180 turn in ms's and auto aims on whatever target is closest.

Explain to me how it is fair that you get an auto aim function that makes you remove all aiming/skill involved, while people with keyboard and mouse doesn't?

I understand that using aoe skills or certain builds might have troubles using auto aim due to how you want to put down your ground effect or whatever, but come on... Why do controller people get such a significant advantage over mouse/keyboard players?

Can't you just make it auto aim for everyone and then it's equally fair and only depends on whatever your prefered method is?

That's at least how I feel about it.. Especially now with WASD implemented (dunno if there is auto aim there) but people who like using mouse/keyboard are forced to run, turn and around and shoot, turn around to run further, turn around to shot (if getting chased)...

It's a clear disadvantage over WASD and controller...

I don't like using WASD due to too many buttons being pressed by my left hand and I am no controller andy, it feels clunky in the UI, so I would rather use mouse and keyboard as I always have..
Though it feels bad to be left in the dust and you giving other input methods clear gameplay advantages over the oldschool method...

"Enable Click Cursor"
"Enable Hover Cursor"

If on click, click a monster and it will aim it until dead or another is clicked.

On hover, keep your cursor on/around the target.

Both are made more lenient with a larger default cursor size.

I believe they made some changes to how targeting works because it was a bit sticky, but increasing the cursor size and enabling whichever option you prefer should fix your problem.
I would never use this but I guess as an option it would be fine for those who want it...

With that said tho I already hate the every living hell out of the ^%#$@ gd damned namelock, I don't need extra lock on BS to prevent me from target abilities properly...

it is namelock. namelock works the same way and I'm pretty sure those functions replaced the old name targeting one. you should be able to make it better by turning those off or keeping hover on and reducing cursor size

Doesn't really give me the insta 180 turn on auto aiming that controllers have.. :) But I will try those functions and see if I like it, thanks :)

Turned off, turned on, all the same, nothing changes. you can easily tell if you don't one shot things and target something, hold the mouse button down and move mouse clear across to opposite side and it will still be targeting same foe...

I would appreciate some sort of new target acquisition after current one dies.
With controller new target become active instantly after previous dies.
With WASD if you don't let the button go the character keep firing and it is extremely easy to miss. So the only workaround would be to constantly spamming the button (and if it is a channel skill - you are screwed).
Then another thing is CoC (cast on crit and others) trigger on target for controller but for mouse and WASD it will trigger on mouse cursor. Combine it with previous issue and you get a lot of missed CoC.

Let me know if I need to make short videos to showcase the issue. It won't be that hard but I hope I was clear enough with words.

I hope GGG can give us some QoL to not feel handicapped. Or at least allow it as with controllers to choose which skills should have aim assist (or new target acquisition) and which not (now controllers have difference between all/melee/ranged).

Also maybe try Keyzen (or any Azeron). It is really good for PoE 2. It doesn't solve then issue with targeting but you can bind WASD to one finger and that is a game changer.
