Olroth's resolve does not give guard over 2x your life pool
| Hello, I was making a cool pathfinder build, intending to scale the guard to mitigate the downside of Ming's heart and finding this out after hours of puzzling (at what would have been a promising build) was not really fun. If this is intended please clarify it in the guard description? 0.3 is great by the way. Last edited by najsnettel#6000 on Sep 16, 2025, 1:04:18 PM Last bumped on Oct 29, 2025, 11:56:47 AM | |
| No, its a bug. I wasted 90 Divine Orbs for new build only to find out its bugged.. | |
| Also very confused by this - I've been experimenting with Olroth's Resolve + Chaos Inoculation, and after some research I've found that "Life flasks applies to your companions" mechanics allow you to drink the life flask when you have Chaos Inoculation. However, you only get 2 guard from Olroth's. I haven't found any documentation or mention of this limitation of guard except for this post. I assume I'm truly only getting 2 guard from the flask in this case, because that's what the buff icon on the UI says. It's possible that the full guard is there. I assume this also applies to Charms that give guard when they trigger, and given that this is difficult to test, it'd probably go unnoticed, meaning the guard effect is useless for anyone using Chaos Inoculation. | |
| Thanks for starting this thread. I figured this out independently today. It seems like in the past Olroth's flask was not limited to 2X life pool? If it's an intended nerf, maybe the Dev's could post this? This should be an easy fix. I spent a lot of DIV crafting an amulet with 65 Spirit (15+50) specifically to use Herbalism II in my build. | |
| In case anyone hits this in the future, the best work around I've found for now is to choose a weapon for the second slot that maximizes life and strength. For me, playing a Deadeye on a Rhoa, that meant a spear with the "10% Spirit reservation efficiency" mod and a shield. With (4) total strength sockets, I was able to boost Life by 430. Unfortunately, you only gain 1X health to your guard since it's still capped at 2X, but my guard is now up to 3,324 (should be 4,094 if not stuck at 2X). The spirit efficiency allowed me to use Herbalism II in this weapon set to easily cap the guard. | |
