Can't add email to account.

Previously played PoE and PoE2 on PS5, have an account through there.
Purchased the EA for PoE2 via Steam and want to add that to my account. Manage account says I need to add an email first, but when I add a email I'm told, "After choosing an email you will be directed to Sony in order to authenticate your request. Once complete, an email will be sent to you to complete the email linking process.". This verification does not go anywhere and spits me to, "You cannot add this login method to this account. The email on the account you want to merge must be verified to complete this process." Is there a path forward/around this?
