Poe2 astramentis gear bug?

So I got lucky on a chance orb and got and astramentis. I then purchased some catalysts from the currency exchange. I began applying them, and watching the attributes rise as I did. Then as I was nearing 20% quality, the astramentis poofed into a regular rare stellar amulet. I had nothing in my inventory besides waystones and aug/transmute orbs. Everything I've seen and the players I've spoken to have all told me that this shouldn't be possible (some of them even accusing me of lying) but this did happen to me. So I'm wondering if this is a known bug or if there is anything that can be done. I know it's not the end of the world, too, before anyone says "it's just an astramentis" or anything like that.
