0.3 Witch Hunter - poison grenades with bleed fragmentation rounds
Initially was looking into what I could do with just armor piercing rounds and grenades early on and it was fun, but a little slow. Felt like I was kind of playing an old school top down shooters like Commando from back in the day.
After getting stuck in early maps, I started to experiment and came up with what I am using now. It is still a bit of work in progress but it is steady and workman like and gets the job done. Except for the occasional one shot its fun to play. Gear can be limited to what you find, but high physical damage on the crossbow is a must. Looking for a second crossbow so I can bring in some of the elemental rounds or even some glacial bolt action to put a wall up whilst I wait for poison and bleed to do their things. Build (no gems or gear) Notes - due to gear I have about 100 int on this character, so it made sense to take the winter owl node - my chest piece is just armor so it made sense to me to take sturdy metal node - most of the magnitude comes from the likes of lasting trauma, deterioration, wasting guilt - crimson assault turned out useful due to reload - Using gems herald of bleed, time of need, herald of plague and wind dancer Here is a video with no sound that shows my items, gem setup and some game play. First off nice damage on that crossbow just a shame it isn't a siege crossbow for the extra grenade but why does it only have 1 socket!!
Talisman of Thruldana for the extra poison stacks or Fenumus rune of agony for the 13% chaos instead of the physical rune would give you a lot more poison damage at the expense of a little bleed. Have you tried encroaching ground support instead of magnified area? I also would recommend Adhesive grenades II for any gas grenade build removing the detonation timer is a game changer. Darkness enthroned fine belt with runes of cruelty would help the damage of both your poison and bleed if you can afford to give up your current belt. |
