Warrior needs movement/attack speed fixes or better passives/placement.
I have to say, i REALLY feel GGG seem to hate warriors.
I have been playing one for a while now (level 82 as of writing this). Act 1 nearly made me rage quit with all the ranged poison mobs, being constantly surrounded, having to spam roll, being beaten to near death while waiting for my 1 attack to hit, praying i was not stunned or knocked back waiting for said attack to hit, and having to teleport back to town to refill my potions (which felt like i had to do every 2-3 fights). Why was this? Because the attack speed for a warrior is like watching snow melt in the North Pole, then there is wearing full armour, which makes your movement speed of a stoned snail, and like I said, that was just act 1. So, where on the passive tree is anything that helps movement speed for the warrior? Well, there is momentum, a passive that ignores the movement penalty from armour, which seems good until you notice it's 18 points from the start of your tree. That's 18 levels not doing anything but trying to get rid of the crippling movement speed, and I don't think it could be in the worst place on the passive tree (as it's nowhere near the nodes I really want). Then there are the attack speed passives, most of which are a WOOPING 3% increase in speed. That's it, I'm putting in a point to increase my attack speed by 3%. WOW!!! I can see why most of the player base are ranged, just look at their passives and the fact that they don't get nerfed for wearing the armor they are meant to use. Then there is the fact that a lot of them are just as, if not a whole lot more tanky than the warrior (2.3k hp on my lv82 warrior and 1.3k with 3.3k energy shield on my necro lv75 seems legit.). i will say the new armour fix was nice, but having to use a mod for the armour also applies to elemental damage, feels a little questionable. Then there is the fact they are clearing whole screens in just a few hits, and please don't get me started on that horror that is the Honour Acendancy. " Attack Speed can be a challenge on Warrior, no doubt. I consider it pretty much a mandatory suffix on my weapon. If movement speed is giving you some issues, you may want to try using Leap Slam (if you haven't already) to get in and out of combat with. It's really good for that. The elemental defense from Armor is good, but requires a lot of investment. I thought it was easier to get a good elemental defense before the latest changes when Max Resistance was easier to obtain as Warrior. But it is what it is. At least the lower strength requirements for gear makes it easier to free up some passives to invest. |
