Build of the Week - Doryani's Tactician

My hardcore build at the moment inspired by the elemental damage affix Doryani's Prototype shares with Armour as a suffix. For this ascendancy, any weapon will work, but you'll have to be up close and personal unless you increase the radius of your Presence, as Doryani's Prototype's lightning damage applies within your presence only. This build is focused on the interactions of the Ascendancy Passive Polish that Gear with the Keystone Mastery Glancing Blows, combined with Armour applying to Elemental damage to create a multilayered defense. My personal choice as I greatly enjoy the design of the skill and it allows access to further multipliers, is to use a Quarterstaff with Gathering Storm - Perfection, Siphoning Strike+Charged Staff for more flat lightning damage, and then Storm Wave - or you can keep using Siphoning Strike, as the Shocked Ground from Gathering Storm will reapply Shocks.

Defense: Armour, with gloves as high armour as possible due to Leather Bound Gauntlets, and taking Shockproof, Tempered Defences, Heatproof, and Prism Guard on the tree. Deflection Rating from Polish That Gear, immunity to either bleed or poison from Tolerant Equipment - eventually, poison, with Constricting Command as a gearing goal due to multiple high value %Armour and %Attack Damage nodes from Surrounded passives.

Required Gear: Doryani's Prototype, and make sure you don't click the sisters of Garukhan shrine in act 2. Ventor's Gamble is the bis ring, although on your way up while leveling you use any fire res/cold res rings with some lightning or phys to attacks or Maximum Life. Ingenuity or a plated belt for the belt slot, and rares for gloves/boots/weapon/amulet.

Spirit: As a Tactician, your second ascendancy node is best used for A Solid Plan. Early on this allows you to have both a herald or banner and Enfeeble Aura if playing hardcore, and eventually allows for you to run a solid companion with these as well.
