What is the actual purpose of Ancient bones?

From an intuitive perspective, one would assume they offer better modifiers (better tier), in respect to Gnawed < Preserved < Ancient.
The 4 times I have used them (spending multiple divs, yay), the mods are mid tier or worse? And seemingly no different from using Preserved equivalents. Am I doing something wrong? Last bumped on Sep 12, 2025, 7:42:55 PM
