Client does not support VPN use in the same way that all other games seem to

I am generally connected to a VPN at all times.

This does not impact my ability to log in, or stay logged in, in practically any game. Steam never asks me to log in again, battle.net never asks me to log in again, league of legends has no problem with it, etc etc.

Path of exile is the ONLY game where I am forced to supply my password every single day when I log in due to being in a "new location".

I am struggling greatly with how this constitutes a bug...

Using a VPN means your IP address will change more frequently - potentially to those also used by others playing PoE - and so GGG's systems become suspicious. You can contact Support directly to ask that they deactivate this system for your account (they'll seek to verify your identity first).

Given the... limited state of Path of Exile account security - such as the conspicuous lack of MFA support in 2025 - I wouldn't, personally, ask Support to remove one of the few layers of security currently in place. But hey - it's your funeral account compromise.

Just remember GGG's policy of never restoring "lost" in-game items for any reason.
