You don't have to be able to get it yourself. You can join global 6666 and ask for people that have it to let you copy it. Offering a donation is always nice and will likely get you more invites. The Vaal Guard is pretty cool, I like him quite a bit. I noticed a sharp uptick in my DPS/speed of clearing areas after getting him in act 3 so he's been a perminent fixture in my army ever since.
